About us
The Institute of Mathematics and Physics was founded in 1990. Its members were the teaching staff of the former Chair of Mathematics and Physics where the courses with physical and mathematical content for the students of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science were taught. Over the years, the staff have changed, also members advanced in their professions and titles as a consequence of their scientific achievements. In the research work members of the Institute have always cooperated with colleagues from other faculties and universities from Slovenia and abroad, and have been for many years strongly linked to the Institute of Mathematics, Physics and Mechanics, Ljubljana and Center for Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics Maribor.
Head: prof. Iztok Peterin, PhD.
